Client:
Healthcare professional retiring after 30 years
Challenge:
Seeking assurance that assets and income sources were sufficient to support him and his wife in their retirement years while leaving assets to their family
Approach:
Considering all their wishes, we began by setting goals for monthly income needs and a desired amount to be left to their two daughters. Altus took a detailed inventory of client’s assets and analyzed the financial information to determine that the client was well prepared for a successful retirement. A portfolio allocation was developed and implemented over the first six months of receiving the funds. The account was invested based on both the target return and risk tolerance of the client. Plans were made for semi-annual or annual reviews to monitor continued success.
Result:
Client received comfort that he would have financial stability in retirement and money to leave to his daughters. Additionally, we discovered there would be excess funds to set up trusts for the grandchildren’s college.
